DIY Fall Candle Recipes

Whether you need a candle for your harvest pumpkin or want something festive to help usher autumn into your living room, there are many DIY recipes for candles. A few of the most “wicked” include the following:

Autumn Spice Candle

This autumn spice candle emits a fun fall scent. It’s made with soy flakes, a candle wick, a weighted base, a pencil or chopstick, a nonstick pot, an 8-ounce container, and 10-15 drops of essential oils (cinnamon, clove, and orange). If you want to add color, throw in some crayon shavings.

Cinnamon Candle

This cinnamon candle creates a warm and inviting cinnamon scent. It’s made with soy flakes, pure beeswax, ground cinnamon, cinnamon essential oil, cinnamon sticks, and star anise. While around 30 drops of essential oils are recommended, you can increase the potency of the cinnamon aroma by adding more.

Apple Cider Candle

This apple cider candle creates a light and slightly spicy apple cider scent. It’s made with soy wax flakes, apple fragrance, cinnamon and vanilla fragrance, red candle dye, and cotton wicks. The recipe is highly detailed and relies on much assistance (via items like candle thermometers), so it’s a good option for anyone making their candle for the first time.

Chocolate Candle

This chocolate candle is the perfect option for the chocolate lover who wants their home to smell like hot cocoa all evening. It’s a simple recipe that uses many items you might already have lying around the house, including an empty can, old candle wax, candle wicks, and a whole chocolate bar.

Pumpkin Candle

This unscented pumpkin candle makes up for its lack of aroma with its visual appeal. It’s made by carving out a small pumpkin and adding soy wax flakes and cotton wicks. It’s a terrific choice for those who enjoy eating pumpkin seeds (since you’ll need to carve the pumpkin out) and those who want their arts and crafts project to be as simple as possible.

With the above DIY options, you can make your version of waxy wonders in a few easy steps. Never mind store-bought goods; they don’t hold a candle to your creations.
