The holidays are a busy time for baking, shopping, decorating, socializing, and preparing your house for a visit from your loved ones. But while you may already have lots of holiday festivities on your plate, there’s always room for fun.
If you live in or nearby Longmont, there are a plethora of events to make your December one to remember, including the following:
Gift of Home Tour
The Gift of Home Tour is a self-guided tour of homes dressed up for the holidays that takes place on December 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. This fundraising event is a wonderful way to support Habitat for Humanity of St. Vrain Valley. Browse holiday decorating ideas or purchase items to take home. Opening night kicks off with a party at Longmont ReStore and transportation via the BrewHop Trolley.
The Holiday Show!
The Holiday Show! takes place on December 3rd at the Longmont Museum. If you enjoy the songs of the season, come experience the best musicians in the region. The lineup includes Hazel Miller & the Collective, the Boulder Klezmer Consort, and the Mestas-Abbott Latin Jazz Quartet. Choose from afternoon and evening performances and stop by the cash bar to get into the holiday spirits.
Longmont Lights Festival and Parade
The Longmont Lights Festival takes place at Roosevelt Park on December 9th. Spend your Friday night roasting chestnuts by an open fire, drinking hot cocoa, dancing to holiday music, and enjoying the fireworks. Stop by the Memorial Building to experience Santa’s workshop where kids can make toys, arts, and crafts. The Light Festival comes to an end on Saturday evening with a holiday parade full of festive cars and floats rolling down Main Street.
Handcrafted Holiday Market
Swing by the Handcrafted Holiday Market on December 10th and 11th to support and shop from 30 local vendors. Enjoy free parking and free admission as you roam aisles full of art, soaps, housewares, handmade items, clothes, jewelry, knickknacks, candles, photos, and more. Prizes will be given away hourly.
Longmont Holiday Lights Trolley Tour
The Longmont Holiday Lights Trolley Tour takes place on the BrewHop Trolley December 12th-16th and 19th-23rd. This is a guided tour of Longmont’s breweries, cideries, and distilleries. The trolley makes a continuous loop and stops at each location once every hour, allowing riders to hop off to eat, drink, and be merry before hopping back on again.
If you’re looking for holiday fun, you don’t need to go far: Longmont is home to a variety of events to help make your not-so-silent nights full of festivity and joy.
